Equipment
Each camper should bring her own stick, goggles, mouth piece and shoes for grass and indoor surfaces. Some equipment will be available to borrow for the day. First come, first serve on borrowed equipment.

No Lacrosse Experience Necessary!

Daily Schedule

9:00-9:15am -Welcome/Attendance/Overview of the day’s activities
9:15-9:30am - Stretch and Warm-up
9:30-10:00am - Stick Skills
10:00-10:30am - Drills specific to your position
10:30-10:45am - Water / Snack
10:45-11:15am - Teaching / Instruction – Team Concepts
11:15-12:00pm - Lacrosse related activities (Relay races, ground ball contest, hardest shot contest, etc.)
12:00-12:45pm - Lunch
12:45-1:00pm - Stretch and Warm-up
1:00-1:30pm - Team Strategies
1:30-2:00pm - Team Practice/Small Sided Games
2:00-2:50pm - Team Games
2:50-3:00pm - Wrap-up and Pick-up

 

Camp Philosophy

White Plains Summer Lacrosse Camp will provide each camper with the finest instruction through a low 8 to 1 camper to counselor ratio.
Our goal is to provide each camper the opportunity to improve their lacrosse skills and knowledge of the game. This will be done through individual periods and small group instruction, team practice and play.
The camp will be designed for players of all abilities from the advanced to the beginner.

Camp Director (Bio)

Mark Armogida has coached lacrosse at W.P.H.S. for the past 29 years, the first 13 years as the junior varsity coach and the last 16 years as the head varsity coach. The varsity team has experienced winning seasons with at least 9 wins each year under the direction of Coach Armogida and assisted by Howard Rubenstein. Mark Armogida was awarded “Coach of the Year” honors after his first year as the varsity head coach at W.P.H.S. in 2002 and again in 2005. Armogida is a graduate of W.P.H.S., class of 1985, and has taught physical education in the White Plains School District for the past 21 years. Mark Armogida has also coached football at W.P.H.S. for the past 29 years, spending the past 17 seasons as a varsity assistant coach.

Daily Operations Director (Bio)

Kasey Rubenstein is going into her fourth year as director of the girls lacrosse camp summer (2014). Kasey played high school lacrosse at Somers HS in New York. She is currently playing college lacrosse at the University of New England where she is a three year starter and a dean's list student. She was elected captain of her UNE lacrosse team as a junior.
